Housing wishlist, new applications, upcoming trainings

Good Morning,

Have to say I enjoy Flickr & streaming radio. Cheap broadband internet is a long way from the Compuserve I was introduced to in the 1980's. Doing three or four things at once is great.

The Wishlist for the Family Solutions House now consists of

  • dish cloths
  • bath towels
  • dresser of any size
Send an email if you can help!

An updated Wintergreen PSHP housing application is available. It is much shorter than the old one. However, the eligiblity rules are the same: homeless, DSM-IV disabling condition, and very low-income. This post gives more information about HUD definitions related to eligibility, and this one outlines changes that will soon be effective for the Wintergreen project.

On 14 Dec 2006, the Northwest Continuum of Care (NWCoC) will present some training opportunities in Boone NC. 3 hours of Introduction to Motivation Interviewing & 3 hours of self-care. The intended audience is front-line staff in our member provider organizations. More to follow, as I really need to get on the stick & advertise!

Job Opportunity with New River for 2 people to work in the WIntergreen program. We are looking for Community Mental Health Techs to provide direct support services in the house. Send me an email & I'll give more details--we are pretty flexible in the hours and schedule.

Whew, just a little bit caught up. All this travel & setting up a new program takes time. Hopefully I 'll get back to this soon.

Friends of Choice recovery housing

Good Morning,

Friends of Choices is dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. At the heart of our organization are our sober living homes for men in the Culver City/West Los Angeles area.

With the homes as our focal point, we also offer services designed to help our residents develop the skills needed to build successful independent lives. Since our founding in 1993, we have provided a safe and supportive home, and a new start in life, to hundreds of recovering alcoholics and addicts.
